About Colours of Change

Meet the founder

I'm Mushrat (Maz)  founder of Colours of Change Coaching.
As a Transition Coach, Creativity Coach, mixed media artist and Creative Practitioner, I help women navigating life transitions, alongside visual artists and writers, reconnect with themselves and move forward with greater clarity, confidence and purpose.

My journey

I was the woman holding everything together. A mother of six. Living with grief as I watched my mother's health deteriorate, knowing there was nothing I could do to change it. The strain showed up in my body - emotional eating, weight gain, physical proof of what I was carrying internally.
From the outside life looked stable, I was present, capable, doing what needed to be done, and I was content with that - life felt settled.
But internally, something was shifting. I felt a growing pull towards deeper spirituality and a sense that my purpose was expanding beyond the roles I was fulfilling. I couldn't yet name what that meant, only that something was asking for more space.
My creativity existed in small, contained ways - personalised gifts, occasional freelance makeup artistry work, fitted around everything else I was managing. It kept creativity alive, but it wasn't expansive enough to reflect who I was becoming or the contribution I wanted to make.
As I searched for direction, I invested time and energy exploring different approaches. Eventually, I began training in coaching, creativity and change based modalities. Initially intending to support others, not realising how profoundly this work would reshape my inner landscape. By applying what I was learning, I gradually found what had been missing: structured guidance that honours your responsibilities, tools that create real internal shifts, and support that meets you where you are, not where you think you should be.
That clarity on what truly supports women navigating change now shapes everything I offer.
Over 4 years, I found a way to work with identity shifts rather than resist them, without abandoning responsibility or burning everything down.
That journey is why I now support women through similar transitions without the unnecessary delay. What took me 4 years to navigate alone, I've distilled into a structured coaching process that supports women through transition in months, not years.
This work is grounded, practical and designed for women who are ready to move forward with intention rather than quiet frustration.Life has a way of changing us, often when we least expect it.
For many years, my focus was on caring for others. As a mother of six and a family carer, I devoted much of my time and energy to supporting the people I loved. Those experiences taught me compassion, resilience and the importance of being truly present for others.
As life began to change, I found myself asking questions that many people ask during times of transition:
Who am I beyond the roles I've held? What do I want this next chapter of my life to look like?
Those questions led me on a journey of self-discovery. Through coaching, creativity and personal development, I gained a deeper understanding of myself and discovered practical ways to navigate change with greater clarity and confidence.
What began as my own journey became a passion for helping others.
Today, I combine professional coaching with lived experience to support women, visual artists and writers as they navigate life's transitions, overcome creative challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.
